About the Job The Clearlake Branch of Meador Staffing has partnered with a local manufacturing company to bring a Pre-press operator to their team Job Summary: The Pre-Press Operator is responsible for preparing and processing digital files for production in a sign manufacturing environment. This role ensures all artwork meets production specifications, is print-ready, and aligns with customer and company quality standards. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, experience with large-format printing, and proficiency in design and prepress software. Key Responsibilities:
  • Review customer artwork and job specifications for accuracy, completeness, and print readiness
  • Prepare, edit, and optimize files for large-format printing, routing, and cutting equipment
  • Ensure proper color management, resolution, scaling, and file formatting
  • Set up print layouts, nesting, and imposition for efficient material usage
  • Collaborate with design, sales, and production teams to resolve file issues or discrepancies
  • Operate RIP software and maintain workflow queues for production
  • Conduct quality checks prior to printing to minimize errors and rework
  • Maintain organized digital file systems and job documentation
  • Stay current with industry standards, software updates, and printing technologies
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional degree in graphic design or printing technology preferred
  • 1-3 years of prepress experience, preferably in sign or large-format printing
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat)
  • Experience with RIP software (e.g., Onyx, Caldera, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of color profiles, file formats, and print production processes
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple jobs and meet production deadlines
