BMC is a local, independent, and physician-owned medical group with over 20 primary and specialty care departments, 90 providers, and 325+ clinical and support professionals. Since our founding by 10 physicians in 1949, we have grown and evolved to meet the needs of Boulder County and beyond.

We currently have clinics located in Boulder (2 locations), Louisville, Longmont, and Erie.

Summary:

Boulder Medical Center (BMC) is seeking motivated pre-med college graduates to join our team as Medical Assistants (MAs). This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on clinical experience during your gap year in a dynamic outpatient care setting.

Ideal candidates are interested in pursuing a career in healthcare and are able to commit to 1.5-2 years of full-time employment (40 hours per week, Monday-Friday), with occasional rotating Saturday morning shifts.

Job Perks:

  • Day shift schedules.
  • Experience working with both primary care and specialty care clinics.

Job Duties:

  • Perform clinic administrative duties, including but not limited to, answering incoming telephone calls, obtaining and/or verifying patient information, patient check in/out, coordinate and facilitate accurate patient appointment
  • Obtain patient medical history, vital signs, chart preparation, medication dosage and frequency, patient allergens, and assist with medical examinations
  • Maintain accurate and strict confidentiality of patient information in electronic and/or manual systems as established by the appropriate protocols, regulations, and policies
  • Preparing examination room, ensuring proper equipment is present and room is adequately stocked
  • Document all aspects of the patient encounter on an electronic medical record system

  • Must be able to recognize and identify patient's symptoms and use appropriate professional judgment in course of action.
  • Must have reliable transportation and the ability to travel to and work at all four (4) BMC sites, as assigned.
  • Must be available by phone to accept assignment changes as needed.

Education Requirements (one of the following options):

  • Completion of Medical Assistant education. *Certification is not required but preferred.
  • Other completed medical training, education, and proof of active certification is an acceptable substitution of Medical Assistant specific credentials. Must have worked with the certification 1-2 years (Examples include but are not limited to: EMT, Surgical Tech, CNA, etc.).
  • Military medical training and education with supporting documentation is an acceptable substitution of Medical Assistant specific credentials.
  • College graduates with a completed four (4) year bachelor's degree is an acceptable substitution of Medical Assistant specific credentials. *College transcripts must reflect completed health science course work. Please submit a copy of your unofficial college transcripts at the time of applying.

Experience:

  • 1-2 years' experience in any industry

The starting hourly pay range for this position is commensurate with experience:

  • $18.91 - $25.21/hour (full pay range is $18.91 - $28.36)

This position will be posted for a minimum of three days, subsequently until filled.
