At Franciscan, our Medical Assistant are criticalfor supporting a variety of clinical duties for multiple ambulatory clinics. This role assists providers and staff in coordinating patient care, scheduling appointments, executing physician orders for lab testing, entering information in electronic medical record system, and functions as a liaison between patients, coworkers, and providers.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
3 days, 12-hour schedule (8am-8pm M-F) days rotate as well as a Saturday rotation (8am-4pm); closed Sundays.
This is a blended site with Express Care, Working Well and HEA
Patients that are seen can have acute injuries and illness, pre-employment physicals, drug screens, family medicine, etc.

Provide a more personal approach to direct patient care in a variety of outpatientsettings, which may include rooming patients, taking vitals, obtaining a comprehensivemedical history, document care of patient via electronic medical record, administeringvaccines, injections, and medications, phlebotomy, point of care testing and medicationreconciliation under the supervision of RN/Provider
Gather requirements from internal and external customers and provide informationvia phone, electronic messaging and in person
Initiate and follow through on prior authorizations, referrals, and process samplemedications, prescriptions, and refills as directed
QUALIFICATIONS
Required High School Diploma/GED
Required Program Medical Assisting
In lieu of program, 5 years of medical assistant experience-Required
Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association- within 90 days of hire
For an MA, you must have one of the following certifications within 6 months of hire: Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) - American Allied Health or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) - American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or Medical Assistant (RMA) - American Medical Technologists (AMT) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) - American Registry of Medical Assistants or Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) - National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) or National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) - National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) - National Healthcareer Association (NHA) or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) - National Performance Specialists (NPS)
