Job description

Summary

Morgan & Morgan is seeking an Associate Attorney to join our growing Employment Law department. The Employment Law Attorney will handle and support a heavy and complex caseload from pre-litigation, litigation, trial prep and trial. This opportunity can be in any of our offices in the Tampa/St. Petersburg metro area.

Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day handling of cases from pre-litigation to litigation 
  • Mostly handling the pre-suit side and assisting senior attorneys once the claim files suit 
  • Drafting and filing of litigation documents to include pleadings, discovery requests, discovery responses, demands, motions and memorandum
  • Guide clients through the case process
  • Interaction with expert witnesses to include conferences, drafting of expert reports and affidavits
  • Attendance and preparation for depositions, mediations, hearings, and court appearances

Qualification

  • Law degree (J.D. / Juris Doctor) from a fully ABA accredited law school
  • An active member in good standing with the State Bar Association.
  • A plus to have experience on wage and hour claims
  • Ability to manage high volume of pre-lit and litigation cases
  • Excellent client service and communication skills
  • Self-starter driven by long-term career goals
