Job description

We are looking for an experienced attorney to support a busy plaintiff-side practice in Tampa, Florida. This Contract position is ideal for a legal specialist who can oversee matters from initial pre-suit evaluation through active litigation while maintaining strong client relationships. The role calls for sound judgment, effective advocacy, and the ability to handle case strategy, negotiation, and courtroom preparation with confidence.
Responsibilities:
• Manage personal injury matters through both pre-litigation and litigation stages, ensuring each case progresses efficiently from intake to resolution.
• Negotiate settlements with opposing parties and insurance representatives while advocating for favorable outcomes for clients.
• Meet with clients regularly to explain legal strategy, provide updates, and address questions throughout the life of the case.
• Prepare, review, and file legal documents such as motions, briefs, pleadings, and other case-related materials.
• Oversee discovery activities, including drafting responses, reviewing productions, and developing evidence to support claims.
• Communicate case strategy effectively by evaluating facts, identifying legal issues, and guiding matters toward resolution or trial readiness.
• Provide mentorship and day-to-day guidance to attorneys working on pre-litigation files and related legal tasks.
• Collaborate with internal staff and legal teams to maintain organized case handling and consistent communication across active matters.• Active Florida attorney license with membership in good standing.
• At least 3 years of experience handling both pre-litigation and litigation matters.
• Background in personal injury law, particularly plaintiff-side case work.
• Demonstrated ability to draft motions, briefs, pleadings, and other legal documents independently.
• Hands-on experience managing discovery and moving cases forward through the litigation process.
• Proven ability to manage a caseload from opening through conclusion with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills for working with clients, opposing counsel, and insurers.
