This position is a remote Associate - Of Counsel attorney and is available nationwide in any state in which Jackson Lewis maintains an office. Applicants must be licensed to practice in California.

Summary of Position

Litigation Associate- Of Counsel (Remote) at Jackson Lewis, P.C. are an exempt attorney non-Principal track position encompassing litigation, charges, and demand letters. This role is available nationwide in any state in which Jackson Lewis maintains an office. The hours requirement for this role will be 1850.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Defend and litigate lawsuits involving a broad range of employment-related claims and agency charges

  • Advise, counsel, and train employers on various employment and labor law issues

  • Class Action/PAGA experience preferred but not required

  • Represent employers in court or arbitration, before administrative agencies, and at mediations in employment matters, including class/collective actions and discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour, contract, employment tort, and non-compete cases

Skills and Educational Requirements:

  • JD from ABA accredited law school, with excellent academic credentials

  • 4+ years of experience (to be considered for an Associate role) handling California employment litigation

  • To be eligible for consideration for an Of Counsel level remote role, you must generally have at least 9+ of relevant California experience and a demonstrated ability to operate in a first chair capacity

  • Must be admitted to the CA state bar and comply with all ethical requirements in the resident state, including being barred if required.

  • Understanding of current agency (state and federal) procedures

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Attention to detail and commitment to excellence

  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills

  • Commitment to professionalism, collegiality, and teamwork

For California, Colorado, Connecticut, DC Region, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Virginia, and Washington State, the expected salary range for this position is between $120,000 and $216,000. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.

This position is also eligible for annual bonuses.
