Job description

This position will contribute to Pre-College Programs by recruiting, marketing, admitting, and enrolling Pre-College students. In addition, they will serve as the admissions system administrator. The position will also be a part of the Pre-College Programs team that supports the operation of the office as well as program logistics including logistics related to outside-of-the-classroom experience, such as program planning, summer events, and Pre-College student support.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Recruit prospective Pre-College students through marketing and communications. Collaborate with Marketing colleagues to maintain up-to-date marketing materials and practices.

  • Represent CMU Pre-College Programs at recruiting events such as fairs and high school visits in cities throughout the country and in Pittsburgh.

  • Advise and counsel high school students and parents as well as counselors regarding the admissions and enrollment processes and/or any concerns or questions about the CMU Pre-College programs.

  • Manage the Pre-College recruitment communications including website.

  • Manage student application and enrollment processes, including Pre-College Programs Slate system management, part-readers work season, etc.

  • Be responsible for the Pre-College Programs Slate system, manage Slate user access and query permissions, ensuring confidentiality and security, and lead ongoing implementation and optimization of processes within Slate (1) to meet Pre-College enrollment goals (per academic program and overall) as well as (2) to maintain student records and (3) support Student Affairs programming efforts.

  • Liaise with Pre-College academic programs as needed.

  • Work with Pre-College team to coordinate feedback mechanisms and assessment of the Pre-College experience.

  • Manage and enhance Pre-College alumni engagement.

  • Assist with summer operations including program planning, summer events, and student support.

  • Serve as the back-up for the Director of Pre-College Programs.

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree required

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience required; experience using Slate is highly desired

  • A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.
