Job description

We are seeking a STEM Pre-College Recruiter who will build relationships with local high schools for recruitment, providing information about Passaic County Community College’s STEM Pathways, and guide incoming STEM majors through the application process. This position reports to the STEM Program Coordinator.

This is a full-time, grant funded position.

Example of Duties:

  • Build and maintain relationships with local high school guidance counselors, parents, and students to promote Passaic County Community College’s STEM Pathways.
  • Plan, schedule, and attend recruitment events and career fairs to engage with potential applicants.
  • Conduct presentations about the college’s STEM programs, STEM internship opportunities, and admission requirements for STEM TRACS Grant programs.
  • Assist in coordinating the STEM Explorers Academy for incoming STEM majors during the Summer and Fall academic sessions.
  • Coordinate pre-college services for incoming STEM majors.
  • Document recruitment procedures and track recruitment data.
  • Participate in project evaluation.
  • Other activities as required related to the STEM TRACS grant.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (required) in Education or related field required with an emphasis in STEM disciplines (preferred).
  • Minimum 1 year experience as a recruiter for educational programs or admissions.
  • Must demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with prospective students.
  • Ability to create and deliver engaging presentations tailored to the audience’s needs.
  • Knowledge of recruitment processes.

The completion of a background check will be required for the selected candidate.

Compensation: Compensation is determined by a variety of criteria, including but not limited to, previous relevant experience, education level, and certifications. The starting salary for this position is $45,000.
