In 1997, a group of volunteers with a heart for human life founded what is now known as Lifeline. Their vision: to create a Christ-centered resource for anyone affected by an unexpected pregnancy. Lifeline currently serves over 250 clients and 9,000 public school students a year. Our goal is to provide support and tangible resources to new moms and dads as they progress through pregnancy and into parenthood. From pregnancy tests and ultrasounds to abuse prevention education programs reaching thousands of teens in over 50 schools, Lifeline extends numerous opportunities for all to experience abundant life.

Position Overview:

A medical assistant provides essential clinical and administrative support to healthcare professionals, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care. Responsibilities include recording vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, maintaining accurate medical records, and facilitating efficient office operations.This position is 32 hours weekly, Monday-Thursday, in-person in Kirksville, MO. No remote options are available for this position.


Requirements of Position:

  • Minimum of associates degree in Healthcare Administration, Medical Assisting, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in a clinic setting or in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare procedures.
  • Proficiency in medical software systems.
  • Ability to operate a multi-line phone system and basic office equipment.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
  • Must be a committed Christian demonstrating a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and faithfully attend church.
  • Agreement with Lifelines Statement of Faith and Statement of Principle.
  • A criminal background check before employment.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to medical services, ensuring efficient scheduling, communication, and coordination of activities.
  • Greet callers/appointments in a professional and respectful manner.
  • Answer calls and digital inquiries and route to appropriate parties.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records, adhering to confidentiality and compliance standards.
  • Serve as a point of contact for patient intake, addressing inquiries, and facilitating communication between patients and medical staff.
  • Assist with patient assessment, exams, and procedures.
  • Assist with data collection and reporting, inventory management, and patient follow up.
