Job description

Exodus Family Ministries is seeking a Resource Center Associate to join our close-knit, supportive team serving individuals experiencing homelessness and hardship in the Louisville community.

This is a front line, hands-on role that combines client support, facility operations, transportation, and day-to-day center upkeep. It is meaningful, fast-paced, and physically active work in a ministry environment centered on compassion, dignity, and practical care.


As a Resource Center Generalist, you will be working directly with guests of the Resource Center many of whom are navigating crisis situations. You will play a key role in helping ensure the center runs safely and smoothly while providing respectful, structured support to those we serve.


Key ResponsibilitiesClient Support & Engagement
  • Greet guests and provide welcoming, respectful assistance

  • Support use of showers and laundry services, ensuring policies and time limits are followed consistently and compassionately

  • Help de-escalate situations when needed, using training and sound judgment

  • Maintain a calm, structured environment for all guests and volunteers

Facility Operations

  • Clean and maintain showers, restrooms, laundry areas, kitchen, and shared spaces throughout the day

  • Launder, sort, and distribute clothing and linens, including heavily soiled items

  • Restock supplies and maintain organized, sanitary spaces

  • Assist with loading/unloading deliveries, donations, and pantry supplies

  • Help with setup and cleanup for distribution days and events

Administrative & Team Support

  • Assist with guest sign-in, data entry, and basic administrative tasks

  • Support volunteers during shifts and help with onboarding when needed

  • Communicate regularly with team members to coordinate daily operations


Schedule

Full-time - 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Preferred
  • 1–2 years of experience in nonprofit, social services, ministry, or administrative support

  • Experience working with vulnerable or unhoused populations


Physical Requirements
  • Frequent standing, walking, and reaching

  • Occasional lifting (up to 30 lbs)

  • Ability to navigate stairs and uneven terrain

  • Constant interaction requiring hearing, speaking, and visual awareness

  • Occasional travel required
