Empire Medical Services is a growing primary care practice committed to providing high-quality, patient-centered healthcare in Brooklyn. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Medical Practice Manager to oversee the daily operations of our office and lead our administrative team.

The ideal candidate is an organized leader with prior physician practice management experience, strong knowledge of New York medical billing and insurance processes, and the ability to create an efficient, patient-focused workplace.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the medical practice.
  • Supervise front desk staff, medical assistants, and administrative personnel.
  • Recruit, onboard, train, and evaluate employees.
  • Create staff schedules and ensure appropriate office coverage.
  • Monitor patient flow and improve office efficiency.
  • Ensure excellent customer service and patient satisfaction.
  • Verify that insurance eligibility is completed accurately prior to patient appointments.
  • Oversee prior authorizations, referrals, and insurance workflows.
  • Work closely with the billing department to improve claims processing and reimbursement.
  • Monitor office productivity and implement workflow improvements.
  • Coordinate with laboratories, imaging centers, medical equipment suppliers, EMR vendors, IT providers, billing companies, and other healthcare vendors.
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and applicable healthcare regulations.
  • Ensure the office remains organized, professional, and operationally efficient.


Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must meet all of the following requirements:

  • Minimum one (1) year of experience managing a physician medical practice or outpatient medical office.
  • Experience supervising medical office staff.
  • Significant experience with New York State medical billing, including Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance, Workers' Compensation, No-Fault insurance.
  • Experience verifying insurance eligibility.
  • Experience obtaining prior authorizations and processing referrals.
  • Experience using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
  • Experience working with healthcare vendors, including laboratories, imaging centers, medical equipment suppliers, billing companies, and IT vendors.
  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, Management, or a related field.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced medical office.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing a primary care practice.
  • Familiarity with New York Medicaid Managed Care plans and commercial insurance carriers.
  • Bilingual (English plus Spanish, Russian, Mandarin, or another commonly spoken language) is a plus.
