Job description


Colorado Periodontal Group is seeking a Periodontal Dental Assistant/Dental Patient Coordinator to join our growing specialty team! This is a part-time, 2 day per week position working Mondays and Tuesdays. In this role, you will be assisting our periodontists at one of our general dentistry clinics in Colorado Springs and step into a Dental Patient Coordinator role as needed.

We work with two fantastic periodontists that are easy to work with and believe in coaching and developing their teams. This is a great opportunity to gain some hands on surgical experience and delve into the fascinating world of periodontics!

Our ideal Periodontal Dental Assistant/Dental Patient Coordinator will have 2 or more years of experience assisting in a perio, endo, or oral surgery specific role. However, we are open to training recent dental assistant graduates or assistants from other areas of dentistry as long as you are reliable, passionate and eager to learn. Compensation: $23-$26hr, plus monthly bonus opportunities based on performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Genuinely welcome patients into the practice
  • Assist the Periodontist with dental procedures using four-handed dentistry
  • A thorough review and update of the patient's health history
  • Sterilization of instruments according to OSHA regulations
  • Select and set up instruments, equipment, and supplies as needed for each operatory 
  • Provide post-operative care instructions
  • Step into a dental patient coordinator role as needed

Requirements:

  • Certified Dental Assistant or Dental Assistant with previous experience in any specialty
  • X-Ray Certification required
  • Active CPR or BLS certification required
  • Certified Dental Assistant and previous Dental Patient Coordinator experience preferred
