Physicians Mutual is looking for a strategic, creative and collaborative communications leader to shape how our employees, customers and the public experience our brand.
As Director of Corporate Communications & Public Relations, you'll lead the development and execution of integrated communications strategies that strengthen our reputation, amplify our voice and support business growth. This role will oversee internal communications, media relations, social media and community impact while leading a talented communications team.
Responsibilities

Lead our communications strategy
  • Develop and execute integrated internal and external communications strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Shape messaging that reinforces our vision, mission and brand.
  • Partner with senior leaders to communicate key initiatives across the organization.

Inspire employee engagement
  • Create meaningful internal communications that connect employees to our culture, strategy and purpose.
  • Lead messaging to ensure it's consistent, authentic and engaging across communication channels.
  • Foster a culture where employees are informed ambassadors for the Physicians Mutual brand.

Build and protect our reputation
  • Lead public relations efforts that enhance brand awareness and strengthen our reputation.
  • Build and maintain relationships with media, community partners and key stakeholders.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor during issues management and crisis communications.

Champion our brand
  • Collaborate across business teams to ensure our brand is consistently represented.
  • Maintain brand across led channels and communications.
  • Leverage social media and digital channels to extend our reach and engage our audiences.

Lead a high-performing team
  • Develop and inspire a team of communications professionals.
  • Prioritize projects, manage resources and ensure initiatives are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Measure the effectiveness of communications programs and continuously improve results.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in corporate communications, public relations or a related discipline.
  • At least 3 years of people leadership experience.
  • Exceptional written, verbal and presentation skills, including AP-style.
  • Experience developing integrated communications and public relations strategies.
  • Proven media relations experience.
  • Social media strategy and brand storytelling.
