Job description

Welding Instructional Assistant

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Works closely with students regularly to provide instructional support in the Career and Technical Education Programs at New Castle Career Center

  • Supervise students being instructed.
  • Extend instruction to students after the initial teacher presentation.
  • Work with small groups of students to reinforce instructional material.
  • Listen to students in recitation, reading, and other curriculum tasks.
  • Help students in labs with skills.
  • Substitute when needed in all program areas
  • Check students' work as directed.
  • Assist with pupil records.
  • Make and file copies.
  • Use and care of equipment and facilities.
  • Maintain positive public relations.
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervising teacher or principal.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Minimum High School Diploma or Equivalent

Demonstrate good oral and written communication skills.

Complete a criminal history background check


PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS:

Prior Welding and/ or basic construction skills

HOURS:

3 Days Per Week - Monday- Friday 8:30-3:30.
