Job description

Summary/Objective
The Community Relations Specialists will serve as the principle ambassador for NorthShore with respect for delivering the organization's vision within the community.
The Community Relations Specialists will be responsible for cultivating community contacts to increase awareness and collaborative opportunity, as well as manage the organization's public image. This will be achieved through attending established community events as well as any company events, networking, and working closely with several teams within NorthShore Health Centers to increase community knowledge of services offered in a targeted and effective manner with a goal of increasing patient visits daily.
All in-house and community activities must support Northshore's mission, core values, goal achievements, organizational quality and patient-centered medical home philosophy; and incorporate values of professionalism, respect, integrity, partnership, team work and compassion.
Essential Functions
  • Lead community marketing efforts, ensuring execution of strategies to improve market presence.
  • Respond to requests for information or designate another appropriate spokesperson or information source.
  • Assist in planning and executing special events.
  • Develop public relations strategies that will influence public opinion or promote ideas, products and services.
  • Provides targeted outreach in the form of education, social media, press releases, and participation in respective community activities and events.
  • Facilitates ongoing communication with the community, media, clinical and administrative programs and multiple stakeholders.
  • On a daily basis supports NorthShore Health Centers by seeking, creating, and maintaining connections with organizations and businesses within the surrounding communities to partner with the organization in ways that promote our mission and grow our patient base and community reach.
  • Support and contribute to safety and risk management efforts within NorthShore, by adhering to established policies and procedures, maintaining a safe environment, promoting accident prevention, and identifying and reporting potential liabilities to Communications Manager and/or the appropriate member of the management team immediately.

Work Environment
Work is performed in an office environment. Involves frequent personal and telephone contact with patients, physicians, and other healthcare personnel. Work may be stressful at times. Interaction with others is constant and interruptive.
Travel
Travel within Northshore locations will be frequent for this position. Travel outside of Northshore locations will be frequent for this position.
Required Role Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, Transcripts, or Equivalent

Preferred Role Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, or Healthcare related studies
  • Two years of experience working within a healthcare setting.
