Salary:

The Automotive Painter is primarily responsible for the preparation, repairing, and painting on a variety of vehicles. This position requires employees to perform a variety of cosmetic repairs with a primary focus on bodywork and paintwork. This position will require employee to perform tasks such as headlight restorations, windshield chip repair, scratch removal, paint corrections, paint touch up, R&I parts, Buffing and more.


This position primarily includes but is not limited to:

  • Minor bodywork and surface preparation for paint
  • Remove & Install parts as necessary
  • Precise color matching and proper mixing of paints
  • Familiarity of BASF and/or PPG paint systems
  • Properly formulate all refinish coatings, including primers, base coats, clear coats
  • Ability to visually read clear coat imperfections
  • Ability to color match by eye and blend paint
  • Cleanliness of work space and equipment
  • Ensure quality and efficiency with repairs
  • Problem solve and correct paint imperfections
  • Time management/awareness
  • Clear communication w/ service advisor and management
  • Use of sanders, sanding blocks, spray guns, paint mixers, paint scales, etc
  • Basic math calculations for mixing paint
  • Ability to provide a quality repair as estimated, understanding customer expectations
  • Final cleaning and delivery of repairs
