Snyder, NE

Job Description

This role focuses on preparing, painting, and finishing emergency vehicles such as fire trucks, ambulances, and specialty units to achieve a high-quality, durable, and visually appealing finish. You will handle all stages of the paint process, from surface preparation to final inspection, ensuring every vehicle meets strict performance and appearance standards.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare steel and aluminum vehicle surfaces by sanding, filling, and cleaning to achieve smooth, uniform finishes.
  • Mix and apply primers, base coats, and clear coats in accordance with specifications and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Perform precise color matching, blending, and touch-up work to meet design and customer requirements.
  • Inspect painted surfaces for defects such as runs, sags, and imperfections, and correct them to maintain high-quality standards.
  • Operate spray equipment and other tools safely and effectively in a paint booth environment.
  • Complete basic documentation related to paint work, including recording materials used and tracking paint and supplies.
  • Follow detailed specifications, color schemes, diagrams, and work orders to ensure accurate and consistent results.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper handling and storage of paints, solvents, and related materials.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment and safe handling of chemicals.
