Job description

Automotive Painter / Refinish Technician

Delray Beach FL | OEM-Certified, I-CAR Gold Class Collision Repair Facility

We are a professional, OEM-certified collision repair organization built on pride in our craft, teamwork, and accountability. Our paint department is a cornerstone of quality — what leaves the booth represents the entire shop.

Painters, body technicians, estimators, parts, and the front office work closely together to deliver consistent, high-quality repairs. We support one another, share best practices, and hold the work to a professional standard — because that’s how everyone gets better.

We are looking for an Automotive Painter / Refinish Technician who takes pride in their work, values a clean process, and wants to be part of a well-run, team-focused shop.

Role Overview

This role is responsible for final refinish quality, efficiency, and consistency. You’ll work in a structured production environment with proper repair planning, clean files, and strong support from the front office and management.

What You’ll Do
  • Perform high-quality refinish work following OEM and paint manufacturer procedures

  • Prep, mask, prime, block, and paint vehicles to shop standards

  • Blend and color-match accurately and consistently

  • Maintain a clean, organized paint booth and prep area

  • Follow all safety, environmental, and material-handling procedures

  • Communicate with production and management on workflow and needs

  • Take pride in final delivery quality

What We’re Looking For
  • Prior experience as an automotive painter / refinish technician

  • Strong understanding of paint processes, materials, and equipment

  • Ability to maintain quality under production volume

  • Attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship

  • Team-oriented mindset and professionalism

I-CAR training and OEM experience valued

Paint manufacturer training (Axalta, PPG, BASF, etc.) a plus

What Success Looks Like Here

  • Minimal rework or comebacks

  • Smooth handoffs from body to paint to detail

  • Clean, organized work areas

  • Strong teamwork across departments

Compensation — Performance Based
  • Hourly Guarantee: Competitive base hourly rate

  • Flat-Rate Pay: Earn flat-rate flag hours above 40 hours/week

  • Skill tiering applies based on experience and capability

  • Quality and chargeback standards are clearly defined

This structure provides stability with real upside for productive, quality-focused painters.

Team Incentive Compensation

This role also participates in a shared, team-based incentive program tied to overall shop performance.

  • Incentives are based on delivered shop revenue, not individual sales or written estimates

  • The incentive pool activates once delivered revenue exceeds $225,000 per month

  • Payouts increase as shop performance improves

  • Incentives are shared among front-office and production-support team members

  • Designed to reward teamwork, consistency, and execution, not shortcuts

Example Monthly Incentive Outcomes

(Examples shown for illustration; individual payouts vary by role and team results)

  • ~$275,000 delivered: $300–$500 per person

  • ~$325,000 delivered: $600–$900 per person

  • ~$375,000+ delivered: $1,000–$1,500+ per person

Incentives are paid in addition to base compensation and align individual success with overall shop performance.

Who This Role Is For
  • Experienced automotive painters

  • Refinish technicians who value quality and teamwork

  • Professionals looking for steady volume and fair pay

  • Individuals seeking long-term stability in a well-run shop

Who Should Not Apply
