Autobody/Paint Technician
Manatt's Autobody/Paint Technician works independently and as a team doing frame, body & mechanical repairs performed on semi tractors, trailers, box trucks, pickups & many other large heavy vehicles and equipment.
Essential Responsibilities
- Tears-down, repairs and assembles damaged vehicles using metal-cutting tools/grinders.
- Grinds, sands, masks, and otherwise prepares vehicles for painting.
- Secures and fits replacement parts using welding equipment.
- Identifies and reports any additional maintenance and/or repairs found necessary in conducting assigned tasks.
- Mixes polyester resins and hardeners to be used in restoring damaged areas, completing fiberglass repairs, and proper use of other body fillers like Bondo.
- Able to produce and maintain high quality work and standards.
- Follows safety guidelines and wears appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Keeps work area clean and cleared of any debris and uphold environmental regulations.
- Ability to work independently and multi-task.
- Strong attention to detail.
Qualifications:
- Valid driver's license with safe driving record.
- Physical ability to enter, exit and work around/on large vehicles
- Interpersonal
- Required to stand, walk, reach, talk and hear
- Required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat and climb
- Vision requirements include ability to see close, distant, color and depth perception
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Prior experience in autobody/paint preferred.
- Excellent work ethic.
- Strong strategic, visionary, and critical thinking skills.
