Job description

Ecolab, Pharmaceutical & Personal Care (PPC) is looking for a Sales Effectiveness Associate to work with existing customers as well as uncovering new opportunities selling environmental control solutions in the pharmaceutical space. You will be responsible for identification and cultivation of small to mid-midsized customer opportunities within your assigned territory, along with managing an existing book of small revenue sites, discovering growth opportunities and expanding our product penetration. Additionally, you will be responsible in key markets for organizing & driving sales initiatives, growing our industry participation, and generating customer opportunity target lists. Internally you will be a key part of our sale effectiveness initiatives driving CRM adoption and working directly with the business operations team on critical projects.

Your role is instrumental in the expansion of Ecolab’s Pharmaceutical customer base and the overall growth of our organization. 

What will you do

  • Engage with existing customers virtually and in person, discovering unmet needs and partnering to implement expanded Ecolab life science solutions with the end goal of expanding the site level business broadly enough to facilitate the need to pass the account along to an account manager for further growth.

  • Travel to and drive sales activation initiatives in key markets working hand in hand with the local Account Manager and Business Development teams based on market intelligence and identified opportunity potential.

  • Engage potential and existing customers via social media, industry events, email campaigns, and support lead nurturing to expand the sales pipeline.

  • Research, identify and qualify pharmaceutical companies & opportunities within the territory that are a fit for the Ecolab life sciences portfolio solutions.

  • Achieve monthly goals for budget achievement, grow to win gains, total value delivered, and pipeline creation.

  • Work cooperatively with Marketing to develop promotional campaigns and messaging to build brand awareness for Pharma solutions.

  • Partner with and support the business operations team with CRM and sales enablement initiatives for the field sales organization.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 2 years of lead-generation or sales-development experience, ideally in the pharmaceutical industry, required.

  • Will require travel (anticipated to be 50%)

  • Experience in delivering client-focused solutions based on customer needs required.

  • Experience working in the pharmaceutical industry is preferred but not required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as biotechnology, chemistry/biochemistry, biology required

  • Demonstrates a hunter mentality with a strong drive to win, individually and as a team, thriving in a high‑volume, leads‑based sales environment that requires persistence, urgency, and disciplined follow‑through.

  • Experience working in the pharmaceutical industry

  • Strong Prospecting skills and aptitude for sales.  Previous specialized sales training included demonstration/presentation skills.

  • Experience with LinkedIn Sales Navigator leads generation a plus.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; both verbal and written.

  • Highly driven, self-motivated, and collaborative.

  • Ability to qualify sales leads and communicate pertinent customer and sales opportunity information to provide a seamless handoff to field sales counterparts.

  • Experience with Dynamics or similar CRM platform preferred

  • Passionate desire to move up within a sales organization

Annual or Hourly Compensation Range

The total Compensation range for this position is $93,800-$140,600 which includes base pay and target incentive based on performance, per plan terms. Many factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation, such as experience, education, training, geography, etc. We comply with all minimum wage and overtime laws.
