Quality Engineer
Walor North America is looking for a Quality Engineer to join its Quality team. In this role, you will be responsible for the development, application, and maintenance of quality control systems for processing materials into finished products. This person will develop and initiate methods and procedures for inspection, testing, and evaluation. In addition, this person will communicate with and address concerns from external and internal customers regarding non-conformances, process changes, and auditing.
What you will do
  • Adherence to federal and local law regulations, internal policies and other applicable rules including ISO/TS 16949, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 requirements
  • Continuous improvement of work and activities
  • Compliance with the corporate mission statement
  • Cooperation with other people in spirit of mutual respect
  • Fulfilling thoroughly all tasks within the scope of defined qualifications and responsibilities
  • Represent the company in professional and respectful manner
  • Maintaining confidentiality of proprietary information
  • Adherence to 5S principles
  • Maintenance of the Quality Management System
  • Insuring the efficacy of new and existing processes to allow for quality problem prevention
  • Perform PPAP of new and existing product
  • Represents QM department in APQP activities
  • Development and control of quality documentation for product and processes (QM plan, PFMEA, Inspection forms, etc)
  • Internal auditing (LPA, QMS, CAR related audits)
  • Customer contact including but not limited to: all non-conformance related activities, PPAP, audits amp; visitations
  • Driving the corrective action response system for internal and external concerns
  • Travel to customers as a representative of Walor North America
  • Communication of quality activities to appropriate internal staff
  • Ability to stop production for quality concerns or issues
  • Training of staff in quality principles and methods
  • Supervision of quality staff, depending upon org chart
  • Analysis of data using statistical control principles
  • Other duties as assigned

What you will bring
  • B.S. degree in related engineering discipline or experience equivalent required (expert knowledge acquired 5+ years)
  • 5+ years job related work experience (i.e. Quality Engineering or equivalent role)
  • Experience with New Product Launches a plus
  • SAP and/or PLEX experience
  • EiQmi/EiPLan System Experience
  • CMM Programming
  • Hommel Programming
  • Contourgraph-Profileometer Programming
  • Project Management Skills
  • Advanced quality principals – PPAP (Production Part Approval Process)
  • Basics of metallurgy is a plus
  • Advanced understanding of SPC principles (Statistical Process Control)

Work Environment
  • Location-The Quality Engineer role is based onsite at our Columbus facility
  • Physical Demand-May be required to lift moderately heavy automotive components up to 15 pounds
  • Schedule-Monday thru Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:15 PM, some overtime or weekends may be necessary
