Quality Control Technician
Temp-to-Hire | Medina, OH
Shift: Monday – Thursday 5p-5a – Fridays are USUALLY optional, with very rare mandatory Fridays.

Pay Rate: $22–$24/hr + 10% Shift Differential (extra $2.20-$2.40/hr Shift Differential)
Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Quality Control Technician to join our team in Medina, OH. This Temp-to-Hire role supports all quality operations on the assigned shift, ensuring raw materials, in-process batches, and finished products meet strict quality specifications. The QC Tech will work closely with production, management, and lab personnel to uphold safety, quality, and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and report product conformance to specifications through inspection of raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods.
  • Perform laboratory testing including pH, viscosity, density, specific gravity conversions, moisture tests, and solids tests.
  • Review production processes for adherence to quality standards.
  • Document, report, and track any deviations from established specifications.
  • Serve as a liaison for all matters relating to product quality.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Support operations (batching, production lines, warehousing) with transactions in the Deacom ERP system, including issuing materials, entering production, de-issuing inventory, and related updates.
  • Uphold and execute company quality initiatives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or a related science, OR 3–5 years of Quality experience.
  • Prior experience in the chemical industry is preferred.
  • Ability to work standard shifts and cover 12-hour shifts as needed for QC staffing.
  • Strong computer skills; ERP experience is a plus.
  • ASQ, CQE, or CQM certification is helpful but not required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and technical levels.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Problem-solving abilities to assist with troubleshooting manufacturing or system issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work in a chemical manufacturing plant and laboratory environment.
  • Occasional reaching, squatting, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Required use of PPE such as hard hat, hearing protection, and safety glasses as needed.
