Job description

Position:  PowerSchool Programming Specialist
Reports to: Chief Executive Officer/Designee
Part-Time Position: 20 hours a week - Retirees welcome to apply
Qualifications:
  •  Three to five years of experience with PowerSchool or equivalent student data base
  •  Experience in a school setting
  •  Knowledgeable of the Illinois State Board of Education Student Information System

General Responsibility:
This individual is responsible for managing and implementing PowerSchool data which includes student information, scheduling, state and federal reports, syncing information with Google and Parent Square, as well as reporting information as requested by administration. This individual is required to be accurate, timely, and efficient by meeting timelines as required or requested.
Sample list of responsibilities:
  •  Proficient with PowerSchool data entry, scheduling, accessing information for state and federal reports.
  •  Able to work with administration, faculty, and staff to provide ongoing support.
  •  Ability to adapt to new technologies that will integrate with PowerSchool
  •  Excellent human relation skills and communication skills
  •  Proficient in data analysis, report creation, and database management
  •  Manage all aspects of student data entry, including enrollment, attendance, grades, schedules, and other key functions
  •  Configure and customize PowerSchool modules when approved by administration to be able to efficiently gather and report data
  •  Develop, generate, and distribute customized reports for administration
  •  Provide orientation and on-going training for faculty and staff
  •  Serve as the primary point of contact for PowerSchool related support, addressing user issues and providing timely solutions
  •  Manage access and security protocols for the PowerSchool system, ensuring data privacy and protection
  •  Effectively communicate to the IT Department and its Administration any issues or problems in a timely manner
  •  Maintains confidentiality as it pertains to staff and students
  •  Proficient with Microsoft Suite and PowerSchool student data base
  •  Excellent Oral and Written Communication Skills
  •  Self-starter who recognizes timelines and due dates to be accomplished and acts on it
  •  Ability to solve problems and make decisions in the best interest of Southland College Prep High School 
  •  Other duties as assigned by the CEO
