Job description

Palmer Construction is looking for a Field Superintendent who knows how to run crews and keep work moving.

We are not looking for someone who sits in a truck all day making phone calls. We are looking for someone who understands utility construction, can walk a job, solve problems, and keep multiple crews productive.

Our crews perform pole setting, anchor installation, pole transfers, and make-ready construction across long-term infrastructure projects throughout West Virginia. This is steady work with years of backlog already secured.

The right person for this role understands how field operations work and knows how to keep crews working safely, efficiently, and without unnecessary downtime.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of multiple construction crews
  • Coordinate work plans, job site logistics, and daily production targets
  • Work directly with inspectors, contractors, and project leadership
  • Ensure work is completed safely and meets project specifications
  • Review daily progress, production reports, and redlines
  • Solve problems in the field so crews can continue working without delays
  • Ensure crews have the materials, equipment, and direction needed to stay productive
  • Maintain strong safety standards across all crews and job sites

Qualifications

  • Experience supervising crews in utility, telecom, or powerline construction
  • Strong understanding of pole setting, anchors, pole transfers, and make-ready construction
  • Ability to manage multiple crews and job locations
  • Comfortable working directly with inspectors and contractors
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • OSHA 10 required
  • OSHA 30 preferred
  • Valid driver’s license

Gas reimbursement is provided for travel related to job site operations.

If you have experience running crews and understand how utility construction projects operate in the field, we want to hear from you.

Company Description
