Who We Are

United Utilities Supply, headquartered in Louisville, KY, is recognized as one of the leading material supply organizations serving the rural electric market. United Utility Supply (UUS) is owned by member cooperatives in 20 states. As a full line stocking distributor, UUS supplies a complete line of materials critical to the electric utility industry. This includes Transformers, Conductor, Pole line Hardware, Lighting, Underground Accessories, Grounding Equipment, Guying, Insulators, Protective Equipment, Distribution and Transmission Poles, Utility Tools, and Safety Supplies.

About the Role

The Warehouse Team Member is a vital collaborative partner of team environment servicing the needs of our cooperative members. Performs all task of receiving in-coming and out-bound shipments of inventory for warehouse location of organization. Investigates and reports any discrepancies to appropriate leader/vendor/customer. Follows policies, procedures and practices of the organization for inventory receiving storage and shipping. Provides back-up and support for Service Center Supervisor for location operation and customer needs.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Accountable for accurately loading and securing out-bound shipments of freight.
  2. Unloads and checks accuracy of in-bound freight, stores material based on procedures of the organization.
  3. Accurately prepares paperwork for out-bound freight shipments including bills of lading and files paperwork properly.
  4. Collaborates and communicates closely with Service Center Supervisor and Area Marketing Manager concerning orders and material to be shipped and received.
  5. Will join efforts to assist Service Center Supervisor in office procedures as needed. Expected to take customer calls, process orders, and check inventory to include cycle inventory counts for customers utilizing computer system.
  6. Required to work hours as required by business necessity such as an emergency storm situation or as instructed by Service Center Supervisor or Area Marketing Manager
  7. Attends required as needed or instructed by leadership team.

Job Qualification Requirements:

  1. 1 year warehouse experience required.
  2. Excellent customer service and communication skills, including ability to handle/resolve customer inquiries or issues.
  3. Forklift license required or ability to acquire and maintain license.
  4. Computer experience utilizing Microsoft applications required, experience with an ERP system preferred.
  5. 2 years customer service experience preferred.
  6. Walking, bending and lifting up to 75 lbs.
  7. Ability to travel when required (>10%)
