Job description

Thomas Tool & Supply is a retail store serving the construction industry by providing quality tools, supplies & equipment. We provide quality tool repair service to our customers. Do you like a challenge? Tool repair is the place to be!

Hourly rate plus Commission!

*A power tool repair technician diagnoses and makes repairs on gas-, air-, and electric-powered tools, such as band saws, drills, and nail guns and small engine repairs such as generators and compressors. Power tool repair professionals read technical manuals, disassemble tools, and use testing devices, such as ammeters and voltmeters, to identify problems. They may be responsible for rebuilding defective mechanical parts and rewiring electrical systems, including soldering or coating wires for proper installation. Power tool repair technicians also must prepare paperwork, keep accurate inventory stock, use internet to prepare warranty forms and look up schematics, use retailer software program to process the repair. handle cash and credit cards. Daily contact with customers for repair and helping with front counter sales requires a friendly, outgoing personality.
Power tool repair technicians must have strong mechanical and technical aptitude. Problem solving skills and close attention to detail also are necessary for power tool repair professionals. Additionally, power tool repair technicians must have active listening skills to understand customer problems and finger dexterity to make precise finger movements to assemble and manipulate small objects.

Repair tech also helps with front counter sales, taking orders for product, handling cash,
computer data entry, shipping & receiving parts and tool orders.

The Tech should be a highly motivated position that can adapt and multi-task when customer
need priority service.
Hourly pay plus Commission, Monthly Bonuses, Health insurance, IRA contribution,
AFLAC/Colonial insurance, Holiday pay, 9 days PTO first year, prorated from start date.
Hourly rate is determined on experience.
Work hours M-F 8:30am -5:30pm, Saturday 8-noon (Scheduled one Saturday per month)
