Job Title: Power Electronics Engineer

Job Description

Join a dynamic team involved in the development of next-generation Open RAN Remote Radio Units (RRUs). As a DCDC Power Designer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing high-performance, reliable DC DC power solutions for outdoor 4G and 5G Radio Units. Your expertise will contribute to the architecture, design, implementation, and validation of power converters while collaborating closely with hardware, mechanical, thermal, and manufacturing teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design DC DC power solutions for 4G/5G Remote Radio Units, ensuring efficiency, thermal performance, EMI, and reliability.
  • Contribute to power architecture decisions, considering outdoor RRU grounding, surge, and EMC constraints.
  • Support the integration of the power subsystem within the overall Radio Unit hardware architecture.
  • Design and implement isolated and non-isolated DC DC converters using various topologies such as Flyback, Forward, and Boost.
  • Develop power stages, select components, and create closed-loop control and compensation networks.
  • Apply best practices in current mode and voltage mode control for appropriate applications.
  • Own schematic design for assigned power circuits and collaborate with layout engineers for robust power stage placement and routing.
  • Apply layout techniques to minimize switching noise, control EMI, and optimize thermal performance.
  • Lead power circuit bring-up, debugging, and validation in the lab.
  • Perform stability and transient measurements using loop analyzers, electronic loads, oscilloscopes, DC sources, and LISN.
  • Collaborate with hardware, mechanical, thermal, and manufacturing teams to deliver production-ready designs.
  • Mentor junior engineers through design reviews, schematic reviews, and lab debugging activities.

Essential Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in Power Electronics.
  • Proficiency in DCDC Converter Design (Forward, Flyback, Boost, Half-Bridge, Full-Bridge).
  • Hands-on experience with lab test equipment such as LISN, Loop Analyzer, Electronic loads, DC source, and Oscilloscope.
  • Experience with outdoor products and technologies related to radio, 4G, 5G, PCB design, and microcontroller.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in power system design and electrical engineering.
  • Knowledge of schematic design and low voltage applications.
  • Ability to mentor less experienced designers and guide them in their work.
  • Strong collaboration skills with hardware, mechanical, and thermal design teams.
