This Position reports to:

Service Operations Manager

Your Role and Responsibilities


In this role, you will have the opportunity to execute service work with low to medium complexity as per work instructions and in accordance with ABB standard processes, quality standards, and safety guidelines. Each day, you will plan and execute work on a first-time right approach with customers. You will also showcase your expertise by displaying a clear understanding of sense of urgency and care in your own area of responsibility.

You will execute service work with MOTR - Traction Team in Madrid or Valencia, Spain. Reporting to the Service Manager, you will act as the technical point person between customers and extended ABB teams.

This role is contributing to the Motion - Traction Team in Madrid and Valencia.
Work model: #LI-hybrid


You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Providing on-site or remote technical support for installation and commissioning of equipment and routine maintenance independently, identifies technical problems and makes analysis through remote or on-site activity in Traction Service.

  • Consulting with and advising customers on the best service solutions in accordance with standard processes, procedures and safety guidelines.

  • Creating and maintaining strong relationships with customers, understanding their needs and providing specialist support and solutions.

  • International travel will be required, as the role will require hands-on support at customer sites.

Qualifications for the Role

  • A degree in Electrical / Power Electronics engineer or CFGS in similar fields.

  • +3 year of experience working as Field Service Engineer, with knowledge in measurement technology in the field of power electronics (voltage range up to 4kV) and with IGBT converter technology.

  • Medium-high level of English.

  • Sound knowledge of and hands-on experience in servicing, maintaining, commissioning and repairing of Drives, Traction or Wind Power Converters.

  • Independent, structured and initiative way of working.
