Job description

About the Position

The Powder Coat Painter is responsible for preparing, coating, and finishing metal parts using powder coating techniques. This role ensures high-quality finishes that meet company standards and customer specifications while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Night shift: 2:30pm-11:00pm

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Prepare metal surfaces for coating by cleaning, sanding, and masking as required.
  • Operate powder coating equipment, including spray guns and curing ovens.
  • Apply powder coatings evenly and consistently to achieve desired finish and thickness.
  • Inspect coated parts for quality, ensuring adherence to specifications and correcting defects.
  • Maintain and clean equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area.
  • Track and report production data, including material usage and job completion times.
  • Assist in troubleshooting coating issues and recommend process improvements.

Qualification Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in powder coating or industrial painting preferred.
  • Knowledge of powder coating processes, materials, and equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders and technical drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Familiarity with safety standards in a manufacturing environment.
