Service Technician (Poultry Equipment)
Job Summary:
Georgia Poultry Equipment Company, a division of Hog Slat, Inc., the world’s leading provider of parts, equipment and turn-key construction to the swine amp; poultry industries is seeking a Service Technician with excellent customer service skills and experience in electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems to join the team at our Calhoun, GA location.
Essential Duties amp; Responsibilities:
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other functions may be assigned as business conditions change.
  • Work with Georgia Poultry customers to understand their repair needs
  • Give customers recommendations on the best parts amp; equipment available at Georgia Poultry with which their needs can be addressed
  • Repair/replace faulty parts amp; equipment in area poultry facilities
  • Properly bill customers for service work hours
  • Work with the Georgia Poultry in-store team to manage warranty claims
  • Take advantage of training opportunities offered by Georgia Poultry Equipment Company and by it’s vendors
Skill/Knowledge Required:
The ideal candidate will have the following experience/educational background:
  • Ability to use tools associated with the repair of electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems
  • Approved safe driving record
  • Familiarity with the poultry production industry and the poultry producers in the area preferred
  • Knowledge of parts and equipment used in modern poultry production facilities
  • At least 2 years of prior experience repairing and replacing electrical and mechanical equipment is required
  • Prior experience working with the systems found in modern poultry facilities (e.g. ventilation, feeding/watering, heating…) is preferred
