Job description

Registered Nurse - Postpartum

This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Postpartum specialty. The job entails working in a 97-bed postpartum unit with a Level IV maternal and Level III NICU. The annual birth volume is approximately 12,000, averaging around 1,000 births per month. There are no call requirements associated with this position. The nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:4. Occasionally, a 1:2 ratio may apply depending on acuity. Typical procedures performed on the unit include non-stress tests, hyperemesis management, insulin drips, magnesium administration, and heparin drips. Ideal candidates possess excellent communication skills and are team-oriented. The dress code requires navy blue scrubs. Candidates with previous Labor and Delivery or Antepartum experience are preferred.
