Postpartum Nurse – High-Risk Obstetrics

Title: Postpartum Nurse – High-Risk Obstetrics

Schedule: Float required to other campuses and units. Weekend work: 6 weekend days per contract. Holiday commitment: Must work 3 of the following 5 holidays - Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day.

Assignment Details: Contract Length: Not specified. Guaranteed Hours: Not specified.

Requirements: Minimum 2 years postpartum / high-acuity obstetrics experience required. EPIC experience is required. Certifications: BLS, NRP. Key skills: High-risk OB/postpartum care, magnesium sulfate therapy, postpartum hemorrhage management, Pitocin administration, Foley care, newborn/postpartum assessments, vaginal and C-section experience.

Roles & Responsibilities: Provide care for high-risk obstetric patients and postpartum recovery. Monitor and assess patients for postpartum complications and newborn care. Administer medications, such as magnesium sulfate and Pitocin, to manage patient conditions. Support patients in postpartum recovery, including wound care and education on newborn care. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for comprehensive patient support.

Compliance / Notes: Orientation: 254 hours. Pre-approved time off: one request must be made upfront. Background check policy: Facility does not accept specific background hits. References: Two references covering one year (within the last 3 years) required during compliance. Compact license must be in hand at submission.
