Position Overview
CareFirst FEPOC BCBS is seeking an experienced Lead Full Stack Java Developer to support a large-scale enterprise modernization initiative focused on migrating legacy on-premises applications to AWS Cloud. This role requires a highly skilled engineer with strong expertise across backend and frontend development, cloud-native technologies, enterprise integrations, and modern database platforms.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience designing, developing, and deploying enterprise applications using Java, AWS, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and Angular while driving cloud migration initiatives and integrating AI-enabled capabilities into modern applications.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the migration of enterprise applications from on-premises infrastructure to AWS Cloud.
Design, develop, and maintain scalable Full Stack Java applications.
Build robust backend services and REST APIs using Java technologies.
Develop responsive UI components and integrate frontend applications with backend services.
Integrate enterprise applications with MongoDB and PostgreSQL databases.
Design cloud-native solutions leveraging AWS services and best practices.
Perform software analysis, technical design, development, testing, debugging, and deployment.
Develop automated unit tests and participate in integration and regression testing.
Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, and engineering teams to define technical solutions.
Troubleshoot production issues and provide technical support for mission-critical applications.
Participate in architecture discussions and recommend modern cloud technologies.
Mentor junior developers and promote engineering best practices.
Ensure compliance with SDLC standards, code quality, CI/CD, DevOps, and security policies.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor''''s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
8+ years of enterprise software development experience.
Strong experience building Full Stack Java applications.
Proven experience migrating legacy on-prem applications to AWS Cloud.
Strong backend development experience using Java.
Experience integrating enterprise applications with MongoDB.
