Remote Sailpoint Developer information

What is a remote SailPoint developer?

A Remote SailPoint Developer is a software professional who specializes in implementing, customizing, and maintaining SailPoint IdentityIQ solutions while working remotely. SailPoint is an identity and access management (IAM) platform used by organizations to manage user identities, access rights, and security compliance. Remote SailPoint Developers typically work with teams to design workflows, integrate SailPoint with other enterprise systems, and troubleshoot issues—all from a location outside the organization’s physical offices. They need strong programming skills (such as Java and XML), experience with IAM concepts, and the ability to collaborate effectively using remote communication tools.

How does a remote SailPoint developer typically collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement identity management solutions?

As a Remote Sailpoint Developer, you’ll work closely with security architects, system administrators, and business analysts to design and implement identity governance solutions. Collaboration is often facilitated through video meetings, project management tools, and secure code repositories. You’ll be expected to communicate technical requirements, provide support during integration phases, and participate in code reviews to ensure security and compliance standards are met. Effective remote communication and documentation skills are key to success in this distributed work environment.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote SailPoint developer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Sailpoint Developer, you need expertise in identity and access management (IAM) concepts, Java development, and hands-on experience with Sailpoint IdentityIQ, often supported by a relevant degree in computer science or a related field. Familiarity with tools like Sailpoint IdentityIQ, scripting languages, APIs, and certifications such as SailPoint Certified IdentityNow Professional are typically utilized. Strong analytical thinking, effective communication, and self-motivation are standout soft skills for collaborating remotely and resolving complex issues. These skills are critical for delivering secure, efficient IAM solutions while working independently and supporting organizational compliance needs.

Job description

Description:

RedMatter Solutions is seeking a Senior SailPoint Engineer to support the engineering and modernization of a large-scale federal Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) environment. The Senior SailPoint Engineer will develop and integrate SailPoint capabilities supporting automated identity lifecycle management, application onboarding, access governance, and enterprise identity data management.

The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on experience with SailPoint IdentityIQ and/or Identity Security Cloud and experience applying modern DevSecOps practices to identity governance solutions.

This position is primarily remote/telework; however, occasional onsite support may be required for meetings or other contractual activities.

Requirements:

Responsibilities:

  • Engineer and support SailPoint IdentityIQ and/or Identity Security Cloud solutions.
  • Develop SailPoint rules, workflows, connectors, and other custom components.
  • Implement automated joiner/mover/leaver identity lifecycle processes.
  • Develop solutions to reduce access provisioning delays and identify or eliminate orphan accounts.
  • Onboard enterprise applications using JDBC, APIs, flat-file integrations, and other integration methods.
  • Use SQL to troubleshoot identity data, perform reconciliation, and monitor identity data baselines.
  • Implement CI/CD practices for IGA components.
  • Incorporate security scanning, automated configuration testing, and Infrastructure as Code into SailPoint delivery.
  • Troubleshoot identity lifecycle, provisioning, reconciliation, and integration issues.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, user stories, backlog items, and operational runbooks.
  • Collaborate with architects, security personnel, application owners, and other engineering teams within an Agile delivery environment.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience implementing SailPoint IdentityIQ and/or Identity Security Cloud.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience implementing or supporting IAM solutions within federal or public-sector environments.
  • Experience developing SailPoint rules, workflows, and connectors.
  • Experience implementing joiner/mover/leaver identity lifecycle automation.
  • Experience onboarding applications through JDBC, APIs, flat files, and/or legacy-system integrations.
  • Strong SQL skills for troubleshooting, reconciliation, and identity-data monitoring.
  • Experience applying CI/CD, security scanning, automated configuration testing, and/or Infrastructure as Code to IGA solutions.
  • Working knowledge of ICAM, HSPD-12, FISMA, and Zero Trust principles.
  • Understanding of identity governance, access certification, segregation of duties, authentication, authorization, and auditability.
  • Ability to meet federal suitability requirements associated with privileged IAM access.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SailPoint IdentityIQ and/or Identity Security Cloud certifications.
  • Experience supporting SailPoint in a large federal enterprise environment.
  • Experience integrating SailPoint with legacy and modern enterprise applications.
  • Experience working within Agile and DevSecOps delivery environments.
