About LPSD
The Large Power Systems Division (LPSD) is part of Caterpillar's Power & Energy segment. Through this global organization, Caterpillar designs and manufactures large (greater than 18 liters) diesel and natural gas engines, powertrains and key engine systems. LPSD products and solutions support customers across power generation, industrial, marine, oil & gas, rail, services and Cat® machine applications worldwide.
Job Summary
As a Metallurgical Engineering Manager, you will have the opportunity to lead a team of Metallurgical Engineers supporting the Manufacturing Operations team. Your team will respond to the Operations issues, leading investigations of failures, contamination control, magnetism issues, heat treat and shot peen support, and work with component and platform engineering teams on determining the right course of action based upon the findings. This position may also be asked to own some metallurgical component failure analysis in the future to support the team and the needs of the group.
What you will do
  • Managing staffing, development, and performance management programs for facility support metallurgical engineering team; motivating and developing team.
  • Providing specialized engineering technical support and consulting services to various areas of the organization.
  • Managing high-impact, short and long duration engineering initiatives and projects; ensuring achievement of engineering plan and product quality.
  • Driving programs/projects to completion on time and within budget.

Summary Pay Range:
$147,760.00 - $221,640.00
