Job description

Advanced Systems Group, LLC enables creativity through better technology and operations for media creatives and content owners. From acquisition to delivery, on-premises or in the cloud, ASG ensures our clients' success through tailored solutions. One of North America's largest Media and Entertainment Technology and Operations suppliers, we provide engineering services, physical and cloud integration, training, support, and managed services. Our Managed Services deliver customized operations and services for all phases of media production, including creative and engineering. Founded in 1997, and providing nationwide services, ASG has teams based in North America, South America, and Europe.
About the Role:
Please note: this role is full-time for a contract term till the end of 2026 and reports on-site 5 days a week to our client's office in Santa Monica, CA.
Our client, a global digital media and technology company, is seeking a Post-Production Producer to join its in-house studio team in Santa Monica. This is a creative-forward position for a producer who knows how to shape a story in post, someone equally comfortable building a paper edit from raw transcripts as they are guiding an editor through picture lock. While the Post Production Supervisor owns vendor booking, scheduling, and timeline infrastructure, the Producer owns the creative arc of each project: driving editorial development, leading editor communication, and serving as the primary point of contact with clients through the feedback and revision process.
The work spans a wide range of social-first video formats, including sizzles, documentary-style pieces, talking heads, internal communications, and user-driven content, at high volume and in a fast-moving environment where priorities shift, and adaptability is not optional.
What You'll Do:
Editorial Development & Story Producing
  • Drive the editorial development of video projects from transcript and paper edit through final delivery, maintaining creative ownership of story, pacing, structure, and clarity.
  • Build paper edits, script outlines, creative treatments, and editorial frameworks that establish a clear narrative direction aligned with project goals.
  • Work directly with editors to shape cuts from first assembly through A-roll, revisions, finishing, and handoff, serving as the creative lead throughout.
  • Translate raw interviews, transcripts, and unstructured footage into compelling, well-structured stories with a social-first sensibility.

Client & Stakeholder Communication
  • Own day-to-day communication with editors and vendors once bookings and schedules are in place, ensuring creative direction is clearly understood and executed.
  • Share cuts with clients and internal stakeholders, manage feedback intake, and drive the revision process through to final approval.
  • Participate in kickoffs, editorial reviews, stakeholder screenings, and delivery sessions; capture next steps and keep project documentation current.

Post Operations Support
  • Partner with the Post Production Supervisor on project status updates, flag creative or scheduling risks, and maintain visibility into edit progress and delivery milestones.
  • Communicate with colorists, sound designers, motion graphics artists, assistant editors, online editors, and finishing vendors to convey creative intent and workflow requirements.
  • Triage incoming post requests, assess scope, route work appropriately, and ensure organized follow-through.
  • Support file handoffs, media organization, and archival workflows using approved storage and review tools with close attention to naming conventions and documentation.
  • Maintain accurate project tracking across Jira and related project management platforms.
What We're Looking For
  • Strong story-producing and editorial instincts, with the ability to identify narrative structure, shape pacing, and guide a cut from raw material to a compelling final.
  • Fluent in the language of social video; understands what makes content perform and applies that sensibility to editorial decisions.
  • Clear, direct communicator with both creative and technical collaborators, able to translate editorial intent into actionable direction for editors and vendors.
  • Calm and solutions-oriented under pressure, able to identify risks early, reprioritize quickly, and keep work moving without sacrificing quality.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and adapting to shifting priorities and team structures. This environment changes constantly and the right person embraces that..
Required Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of experience in post production, with a meaningful portion in a story-producing, editorial development, or post producing capacity.
  • Demonstrated ability to build paper edits, script outlines, and editorial frameworks from raw transcripts, interviews, or unstructured footage.
  • Hands-on experience guiding editors through the full editorial process from first assembly to picture lock, with a clear and consistent creative point of view.
  • Experience supporting multiple concurrent video projects in a high-volume, deadline-driven post environment.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro; working familiarity with After Effects and proxy-based editorial workflows.
  • Comfort working across project management platforms such as Jira, Monday.com, Airtable, Smartsheet, or equivalent.
Preferred Qulifcations
  • Background producing video content for social media at scale, at a marketing agency, social content studio, production company, or in-house brand or marketing team with significant social output.
  • Experience in a media production capacity at a digital media company, streaming platform, or technology company is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Frame.io and shared storage or media management systems.
  • Experience supporting color, sound, motion graphics, QC, and delivery workflows in a finishing or post house context.
