Job description

PRN OR/PACU RN

Seeking a PRN RN to work primarily in the operating room (OR Circulator), with the possibility of overnight PACU shifts for Weston Cosmetic Surgery by H/K/B!

Additional support may be needed in the front office including pre-op evaluations, medical clearance, post-op appointments, assisting during consultations, minor procedures, and follow-ups. PACU overnight support as needed 6pm-6am.

What you can expect in the role:

  • Preparing the operating room with necessary equipment for surgical cases
  • Preparing and administering medications
  • Assisting Anesthesia providers as needed
  • Preparing patients for surgery by cleaning and disinfecting areas to be operated on
  • Remaining in the room to assist with any needs
  • Intraoperative charting
  • Stocking operating rooms with sterile surgical equipment, linens, and supplies
  • Developing and implementing nursing care plans for surgical patients
  • Identifies patient care requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons in a position to understand care requirements.
  • Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families.
  • Promotes patient's independence by establishing patient care goals; teaching patient, friends, and family to understand condition, medications, and self-care skills; answering questions.
  • Resolves patient problems and needs
  • Must be able to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations; calling for assistance from health care support personnel.
  • Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.
  • Prepare patients for surgery in the pre-operative setting.
  • Assist in the recovery of patients post surgery.

Requirements:

  • Active RN license (Required)
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (Required)
  • Current ACLS and BLS certification
  • Bilingual preferred (English & Spanish)
  • Minimum 1 year experience working in the Operating Room (Required)
  • Plastic surgery experience preferred.
  • Must be able to lift 50+ pounds.
