Job description

Post Graduate Fellowship Opportunity
The Legal Aid Society of Cleveland (Legal Aid) invites applications from third-year law students (graduating in 2027) and individuals completing judicial clerkships in 2027 who are interested in pursuing post-graduate public interest fellowships.
Selected applicants will receive Legal Aidโ€™s support as a host organization for competitive fellowship programs, including the Skadden Fellowship, the Ohio Access to Justice Foundation Fellowship, and Equal Justice Works Fellowships. Applicants with a strong interest in any area of civil law serving low-income individuals and vulnerable populations are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications:
  • Graduation from an accredited law school in 2027 or completion of a judicial clerkship in 2027
  • Commitment to public service and advancing access to justice
  • Eligibility for the Ohio Bar Exam in 2027, or current admission in Ohio
  • Cultural competency and experience working with diverse communities
  • Strong legal research, writing, and advocacy skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Initiative and strong problem-solving skills
Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience working with low-income communities
  • Knowledge of poverty law
  • Spanish language proficiency
