Job description

Uber AI Solutions delivers high-quality scaled programs in operations, technology and data analytics for various Uber businesses, leveraging our deep vendor partner network capabilities to carry out the program execution. We are extending our impact and reach beyond Uber - our tech+ops solutions coupled with Uber's strength of building a platform for flexible work will enable enterprises world-wide to accelerate their data, AI and product journeys. In doing so, we're also creating flexible earnings opportunities through online tasks for millions of people across the world. Together, our tech, operations expertise and platform for knowledge work are uniquely positioned to be the best-in-class human-in-the-loop solution for the industry.
Uber AI Solutions is looking for a Solutions Architect Manager that will be the technical cornerstone of our go-to-market engine, responsible for bridging the gap between a customer's vision and our operational execution. This is a unique opportunity to build a new function from the ground up, requiring a leader who can navigate high-stakes pre-sales engagements while architecting the frameworks for long-term customer success.
You will own the "Technical Win," serving as the primary authority during the pre-sales phase to evaluate customer needs and scope complex AI data engagements. Your influence extends beyond the sale; you will act as a critical voice in defining the product roadmap, defining the features and requirements needed to solve frontier AI challenges in Autonomous Systems, Robotics, and Generative AI. By managing post-sales success alongside the Product and Program teams, you will ensure that the margin-positive solutions you design move from raw data to real-world impact at unmatched scale.
What You Will Do
Lead Strategic Customer Engagements & Pre-Sales Strategy
  1. Client Engagement: Partner with Sales and Program Managers to understand prospective clients' technical roadmaps, and collaborate to drive ongoing governance, troubleshooting, up/cross-sell, and thought leadership to customers.
  2. Executive Technical Advisor: Serve as the founding technical authority in complex, high-stakes enterprise deals. You will act as a bridge between the customer and our engineering teams, translating high-level AI objectives into rigorous, executable scopes of work, Proof of Concepts (POCs), and technical delivery plans.
  3. GTM Partnership & Scoping: Collaborate with Sales, Program Management, and Operations to ensure that every engagement is architected for both technical success and commercial viability. You own the "technical win" by designing margin-positive solutions that scale.
  4. Product Signal & Feature Definition: Act as the primary conduit for field intelligence. You will distill unique customer requirements and market gaps into clear, actionable feature requests, partnering with the Product team to ensure the Uber AI Solutions roadmap reflects the evolving needs of the most advanced AI labs.
Create a Foundational Solutions Architecture Program
  1. Founding Team Leadership: Recruit, mentor, and scale a net new team of Solutions Architects inside of Uber. You will define the profile for this new organization, seeking individuals who blend consulting-grade communication with deep data engineering and AI strategy expertise.
  2. Technical Standardization & Playbooks: Develop the organization's first "Solution Blueprints" for core industries like Autonomous Systems (AV), Robotics, and GenAI. You will create repeatable frameworks that allow the team to scope and deploy complex 3D/multimodal data pipelines with speed and precision.

Operational Excellence & Success Tracking: Establish the metrics and rigor that define the department's impact. You will implement systems to track and optimize key performance indicators, including technical win rates, solution cycle times, strategic customer engagement programs, and post-sales execution quality.
---- Basic Qualifications ----
  1. 9+ years of experience leading technical programs in AI, Robotics, or Autonomous Systems, with a focus on cross-functional delivery.
  2. Proven track record managing the end-to-end AI lifecycle, including data strategy, HITL workflows, and Generative AI deployments.
  3. Experience delivering AI data solutions across various regions and languages.
  4. Expert at translating complex technical roadmaps into clear business outcomes and milestones for executive-level stakeholders.
  5. Executive Influence & Foundational Leadership: Proven ability to serve as a strategic advisor to senior technical leaders, while also able to engage with the Developer community at a tactical level.

---- Preferred Qualifications ----
  1. Global Leadership: Expert at scaling and leading technical teams across multiple time zones while maintaining speed and high standards in a 24/7 environment.
  2. Regulatory & Local Expertise: Experienced in delivering global AI solutions while navigating complex data privacy laws (like GDPR) and large-scale language localization.
  3. Hands-on Practitioner: A technical leader who actively codes and dives into data to build prototypes, unblock pilots, and solve complex integrations alongside the team.
  4. Business Acumen: Preferably MBA-educated with a focus on "P&L impact", balancing technical quality with profit margins and Uber's long-term strategic growth.
