Job Description

The Senior Licensing Fellow provides highlevel strategic leadership for the Licensing and Regulatory Affairs organization. This role partners closely with the VP to set longterm strategic direction, establish 5year goals and annual KPIs, and guide organizational planning, budgeting, and staffing to align with Xenergy's business priorities. The Fellow leads the development of standardized licensing programs and processes, oversees execution of highprofile projects, and evaluates complex regulatory challenges to drive practical, efficient solutions. The role ensures strong coordination across internal teams and represents the company in highstakes external engagements, including regulatory bodies, government entities, NGOs, investors, and key business partners, strengthening trust and advancing Xenergy's licensing and regulatory objectives.


Job Profile Tasks/Responsibilities:

  • Partners with the VP, Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, to set strategic direction for the organization and develop the detailed plans to achieve that direction.
  • Partners with the VP in establishing the 5-year goals for the organization and the yearly KPIs to ensure goals support X-energy strategic business goals and Tier 1 goals.
  • Provides strategic input and leadership on development of annual budgets and provides oversight throughout the year on execution against those budgets.
  • Provides strategic input and leadership on building and maintaining organizational structure and staffing capable of adapting to and executing on X-energy's strategic business goals
  • Leads development of new programs and processes that standardize licensing deliverables and support sustained efficiency gains in execution.
  • Provides oversight and leadership on high-profile projects within the organization to ensure milestones are achieved, challenges are identified early and elevated, and staff are supported in executing functions.
  • Leads evaluation of complex regulatory matters to chart efficient and practical solutions that achieve organizational goals.
  • Ensures effective and close coordination with internal stakeholders that both build trust and collaboration, but also enhance company execution on activities.
  • Leads engagement with high-profile external business stakeholders ensuring a positive working relationship that builds trust and helps win new projects.
  • Leads engagement with regulatory bodies, domestic and international, related to submitted and pending applications to enhance the efficiency of ongoing and future reviews.
  • Leads engagements with other stakeholders such as Federal, State, and local governments, NGOs, investors and other interested parties on matters related to X-energy regulatory and licensing.
  • Maintain professional demeanor and behavior at all times in all forms of communication.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager

Job Profile Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in nuclear engineering or related discipline from an accredited university or college BS in Engineering or Science discipline (i.e., Mechanical, Nuclear, Electrical, Physics, Environmental).

  • Typically, twenty years of total work experience with a minimum of ten years of experience directly related to the designated discipline

  • Must have a minimum of three of the following criteria Authorship or co-authorship of peer-reviewed papers or technical publications. Proven track record of innovative problem-solving and contributions to significant projects within the organization.

-Recognition by industry peers through awards or commendations.

-Involvement in professional associations.

-Speaking at professional conferences.

-Ph.D. in the specific discipline can substitute for authorship of peer-reviewed or technical publications.

Compensation

As required by Maryland and other applicable state law, X Energy, LLC (X-energy) lists the expected compensation range for a publicly advertised job opportunity based upon the job requirements (e.g. education/training, experience, skill sets, etc.). Individual candidates who meet the job requirements for the posted position will be offered a salary within this range based on their respective levels of education/training, experience, and other qualifications unique to them. Salary ranges may vary based on the specific office location and region referenced in the posting to take into consideration differences in cost of living and may not be reflective of all regions. Please note that compensation ranges listed for US job postings reflect base salary only and do not include benefits or other incentives.

Offers within the posted salary range are commensurate with the individual's qualifications for the position, along with a view on internal equity, market data, and room for growth. The salary range for this position is:

$300,000- $325,000. The compensation for this position is comprised of base salary plus an annual short term incentive which is variable, based on scope of responsibility and achievement of goals.
