Job description

Title: Buyer II
Location: Plymouth, MN
Duration: 12 Month Assignment
Onsite 4 days in Plymouth - 1 day remote
Shift: 8AM - 4PM
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for purchasing and managing materials, equipment, and supplies from vendors.
  • Review pricing and lead times.
  • Issue POs and update ERP systems.
  • Address invoice issues.
  • Participate in weekly status reviews for inventory levels and take actions as needed with suppliers to maintain inventory target levels.
  • Update master data in the systems (refresh lead times, quantities, etc.).
  • Manage purchase orders, execute constraints, review purchase requisitions, and cut POs.
  • Support purchasing of raw material, electronics, plastic tubing, labels, etc.
  • Cross functional communication and collaboration with many teams.
  • Some possible negotiation on pricing.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and 2-5 years of experience in the field is strongly preferred.
  • If no bachelor's degree, candidate would need 5+ years of experience in the field.
  • High School diploma required.
  • Direct materials purchasing experience required (2-3+ years).
  • ERP experience required (SAP is what Abbott uses).
  • MS Office experience required.
  • Medical Device experience highly preferred.
  • Reliable and dependable; once trained, able to work independently.

  • Direct Buyer experience.

  • Reliable / ability to execute tasks with minimal supervision.
