Job description

Location: Merrillville Ace Hardware

Reports to: Owner/Operator

Overview:

Merrillville Ace Hardware is seeking a hands-on Store

Manager who will take ownership of store operations, drive sales, and lead a

team focused on delivering an outstanding customer experience. This is a

full-time, leadership role ideal for someone with a retail management

background and a passion for community-based service.

Key Responsibilities:Store Operations & Leadership

·        

- Manage daily operations including

opening/closing, merchandising, and customer service

·        

- Lead and support the team to meet sales goals,

control costs, and drive overall store performance

·        

- Ensure the store is fully stocked, clean,

organized, and “Customer Ready” at all times

Customer Experience

·        

- Promote a culture of service and ensure every

customer has a positive in-store experience

·        

- Resolve escalated customer issues promptly and

professionally

·        

- Oversee the implementation of Ace Rewards and

other promotional programs

Team Management

·        

- Train, and develop store associates

·        

- Delegate daily responsibilities and set clear

expectations

·        

- Motivate the team through coaching, feedback,

and accountability

Inventory & Merchandising

·        

- Maintain accurate inventory counts and manage

product replenishment

·        

- Execute seasonal floor sets, promotional

signage, and end cap displays

·        

- Monitor shrink and implement best practices to

reduce loss

Maintenance & Safety

·        

- Oversee store appearance, repairs, and

preventative maintenance

·        

- Ensure safety protocols and company standards

are followed

Qualifications:

·        

- High school diploma or GED required; college

preferred

·        

- 2+ years of retail management experience,

hardware knowledge a plus

·        

- Strong leadership, time management, and

communication skills

·        

- Ability to lift 50 lbs and be on your feet for

extended periods

·        

- Proficient in retail systems and POS

technology (Eagle, Acenet, etc.)
