Job description

Mary's Woods has an opening for a Renovation Technician who is committed to providing high-quality work and service. The Renovation Technician is responsible for performing renovation type tasks and general maintenance of our buildings and grounds of Mary’s Woods. As a Renovation Technician at Mary's Woods, you will be contributing to creating a beautiful community for residents and their guests to enjoy. You must be able to relate positively and favorably to staff, residents, and families, and enjoy working on a team.

Mary's Woods is a non-profit senior living community founded in 2001. We offer independent living, assisted living, memory care and residential care in a park-like setting on 40 acres in Lake Oswego. We pride ourselves on our rich heritage, spirit of caring and welcoming culture. We are seeking passionate team members to join us in fulfilling our mission and values.

Below are some of the core responsibilities, experience, and skills needed to be successful:

  • Perform maintenance on equipment according to manufacturer’s recommendations and operations manuals
  • Perform maintenance repairs such as plumbing and electrical
  • Perform interior and exterior repairs to the buildings, grounds, equipment and systems
  • Perform maintenance checks of the buildings, grounds, and facilities
  • Perform minor carpentry on interior wood products, cabinets, shelving units, laminate flooring
  • Move appliances, furniture and other items as needed to assist with the repair and maintenance of apartments and common area spaces
  • Participates in on-call one week on a rotating basis as needed to provide emergency help when needed

Education and Experience Required:

  • Education equivalent to the completion of a high school diploma
  • A minimum of two years' experience in facilities and maintenance
  • Attention to detail, time management skills, and the ability to follow instructions working alone or as part of a team
  • Basic knowledge of demo, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, appliance repair, drywall repairs, installation and repair of flooring, and operating a pressure washer
