Job description

Mary's Woods is seeking a Renovation Technician who is committed to providing high-quality work and service. The Renovation Technician is responsible for performing renovation, remodeling, repair, and improvement projects throughout the senior living community. This position helps maintain attractive, safe, and functional apartments and common areas for residents, visitors, and staff. The Renovation Technician completes unit turns, carpentry, painting, flooring, drywall repair, and other construction-related tasks while ensuring compliance with safety standards and resident-centered service expectations. As a Renovation Technician at Mary's Woods, you will be contributing to creating a beautiful community for residents and their guests to enjoy. You must be able to relate positively and favorably to staff, residents, and families, and enjoy working on a team.
Mary's Woods is a non-profit senior living community founded in 2001. We offer independent living, assisted living, memory care and residential care in a park-like setting on 40 acres in Lake Oswego. We pride ourselves on our rich heritage, spirit of caring and welcoming culture. We are seeking passionate team members to join us in fulfilling our mission and values.
Below are some of the core responsibilities, experience, and skills needed to be successful:
  • Complete apartment renovations and prepare vacant units for new resident occupancy.
  • Perform drywall installation, patching, texturing, and repairs.
  • Install, repair, and replace flooring, including vinyl plank, carpet, and tile.
  • Perform interior and exterior painting, staining, and finishing work.
  • Complete basic carpentry projects, including cabinetry, trim, doors, and hardware installation.
  • Install and repair fixtures, shelving, handrails, and accessibility features.
  • Assist with minor plumbing and electrical work within scope of training and local regulations.
  • Remove and replace damaged building materials and finishes.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
  • Coordinate renovation schedules with maintenance, housekeeping, and community leadership.
  • Identify potential safety hazards and report maintenance concerns promptly.
  • Follow all OSHA, company, and community safety procedures.
  • Interact professionally and courteously with residents, family members, visitors, and staff.
  • Assist with special projects and community improvement initiatives as assigned.

Education and Experience Required:
  • Education equivalent to the completion of a high school diploma
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in renovation, construction, remodeling, apartment maintenance, or a related field.
  • Experience in senior living, healthcare, hospitality, multifamily housing, or residential construction preferred.
