Job description

Pontchartrain Animal Hospital is seeking an outgoing Veterinary Receptionist / Client Service Representative to serve as the welcoming face of our hospital.
In this fast-paced role, you will create exceptional client experiences, build trust through compassionate service, manage appointments and daily patient flow, handle multi-line phones and in-person interactions, process transactions, and support clients with essential information about our services. Ideal candidates are friendly, detail-oriented, highly organized, and thrive in a team-focused customer service environment.
Schedule and compensation:
  • Compensation: $14-15 per hour, for each hour worked
  • Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday, with rotating/intermittent Saturday shifts. Scheduling may consist of four 10-hour shifts (4x10s), five 8-hour shifts (5x8s), or a combination based on hospital needs. Weekday shifts may fluctuate between approximately 8-10 hours. Saturday hours are typically 7:45 AM-12:30 PM.
  • Flexibility: This position requires flexibility with scheduling and may occasionally assist or float to the kennel/boarding area during periods of high boarding volume.

    • Experience working with veterinary practice management software, especially Shepherd, preferred
    • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to provide compassionate, professional service to clients during both routine and emotionally sensitive situations
    • Strong organizational and time management skills
    • Experience scheduling appointments and coordinating calendars preferred
    • Ability to accurately process payments and maintain financial records
    • Positive attitude and willingness to collaborate with a team
    • Ability to remain calm, professional and solution-oriented during busy periods
