Job description

OPPORTUNITY:

We are seeking  Board Eligible or Certified in Emergency Medicine Physicians for our Emergency Department at St. Tammany Parish Hospital. This is a full-time contracted position.


EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT:

St. Tammany Parish Hospital Emergency Department is a Level 3 Trauma Center and is an accredited stroke and chest pain center. Our department provides the broadest range of services for emergency care including after-hours care, heart and stroke care, pediatric emergency care, diagnostic testing, and access to specialists. St. Tammany Parish Hospital offers two emergency departments in the service district. One is part of the main hospital facility in Covington, and the other is an off-site emergency department in Mandeville.


EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT STATISTICS:

  • Approximately 42,000 visits annually
  • 35 beds on the main campus with dedicated fast track and specialty treatment area for mental health, pediatrics, and trauma
  • 30,000 sq ft department
  • Physician coverage = 62 hours per day average
  • APP coverage = 36 hours per day average
  • Epic EMR
  • Extremely well-staffed with experienced Advance Practitioners and RNs
