Lead Security Engineer

Babylon Labs Ltd

West Babylon, NY โ€ข Remote

Full-time

Job description

Babylon is building native use cases for Bitcoin. Bitcoin is an incredible store of value, but it's historically been difficult to unlock its broader economic productivity. Our products address this - our flagship protocol, trustless Bitcoin staking, has attracted more than $6B native BTC TVL, and our new invention Trustless BTCVault allows native BTC to participate in DeFi protocols on any chain without bridging.

We're a fast-growing team of world-class researchers, engineers, and GTM operators. Our culture is open, collaborative, and fast-moving, and we're serious about empowering individuals to shape the future of the project and the broader ecosystem. About the Job Security of the protocols developed at Babylon is of paramount significance, as they will serve as the backbone for an unprecedented shared economy powered by Bitcoin.

We are looking for a highly experienced security professional who is paranoid about loopholes and attack vectors on all fronts in decentralized protocols. This role requires independent thinking and execution, while coordinating with the research and engineering team members to achieve the security objectives. Your main responsibilities include: Be the owner of security for all technologies, protocols, and products developed by the team, including potential attack vectors in algorithms, cryptography, code, and deployments Establish overall security objectives and lead the planning and execution to achieve them Be the in-house "whitehat" to identify security gaps in code and infrastructure Coordinate with the engineering team to establish best security practices in software development cycles Manage the end-to-end audit lifecycle and bug bounty programs.

About You As an experienced security professional with hands-on experience in ethical hacking, you know where to look when identifying security vulnerabilities. You are paranoid and passionate about anything that might give attackers an edge, yet you are capable of translating all your security concerns into actionable countermeasures. You understand that security needs to be baked into the culture of the team and you are ready to champion that.

Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 3 years' experience in hands-on security analysis and vulnerability discovery for blockchains or DeFi protocols. Good understanding of smart contract languages and their semantics.

Good understanding of operational security and security best practices. Experience in designing agile infrastructure systems and practices to build, deploy and host applications and sensitive credentials securely. Whitehat ethical hacking experience is a strong plus.

Fluent in English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills, facilitating clear and effective collaboration across global teams. Our team is remote first and we are hiring across the world. Here at Babylon Labs, you'll be joining a world-class team with tremendous growth potential as we bring secured Bitcoin staking to the world.

Supported by top venture funds like Paradigm, Polychain Capital, Bullish, Hack VC, Polygon Ventures, Framework Ventures, Castle Island Ventures, OKX Ventures, among other investment firms and strategic partners. Come join us and build the future of trustless Bitcoin staking! #J-18808-Ljbffr
