Job description

Job Summary:

As a Security Analyst you will utilize your skill and knowledge set to protect the organizationโ€™s environments from internal and external threats while maintaining confidentiality, integrity, and accessibility of the privileged data. By leveraging your abilities to identify threats posed through emerging vulnerabilities, misconfigurations, and social engineering you will lower the amount of risk facing the organization and our customers.


What you Will Do:

  • Build internal tools or scripts to reduce manual effort and improve response times.
  • Deliver training or guidance to employees on secure practices and technologies.
  • Conduct analysis on alerts originating from SIEM, EDR, IPS/IDS, and other security utilities.
  • Analyze emerging threats and vulnerabilities for risk posed to the organization.
  • Develop and curate security best practices.
  • Maintain awareness of cyber security and technology trends to provide recommendations as appropriate.
  • Provide security consultations for new products, projects, and architectural changes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Education and Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in a role requiring incident analysis, security research, security operations, or similar.
  • 3+ years of experiencing utilizing critical tools used in security operations and security event analysis.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Understanding security controls for common platforms and devices.
  • Hands-on use and implementation experience with common security tools (EDR, SIEM, IAM, vulnerability scanners, firewalls, etc.).
  • Familiarity with PCI-DSS and SOC 2 standards.
  • Vulnerability and Risk Assessment.
  • Digital Forensics and Incident Response.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Sec+, CYSA+, Azure/AWS security specialty).


Work Environment
:

  • Office setting with a moderate noise level.
  • The employee will work at an individual workstation, using a telephone and computer.


Physical Demands
:

  • Must be able to remain seated for extended periods.
  • Regular use of a computer and other office machinery, such as printers and copy machines.
  • Occasional movement around the office.
  • Frequent communication via telephone.
