Description
General Description:
The Membership Auditor will provide accurate data processing, data analyses, reports and performance metrics of the membership program. Provide accurate information and resources to the program staff of the union. Provide clear and concise information regarding the membership program to both employers, staff, and members of the union.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
  • Work within contract/labor law legal requirements/timelines to develop spreadsheets, reports and performance metrics.
  • Analyze, interpret/process reports, generate additional reports/spreadsheets and recommendations for SEIU staff and agencies.
  • Monitor and provide membership fluctuation reports.
  • Process various types of Membership applications from different sources.
  • Audit employer data, provide exception report processing and summary reports to department heads/staff.
  • Process employer data downloads and import data into the membership database
  • Provide exception reports, process and troubleshoot discrepancies working with staff and employers.
  • Oversee notification process of certified letters to individual employees and employers regarding union membership status following established legal requirements.
  • Maintain membership database (address, contact and membership status information), may design small database programs.
  • Answer questions from members, staff, and employer payroll offices concerning membership information.
  • Create, process and distribute monthly membership reports.
  • Process and review monthly data of membership records and agency-produced membership listings for accuracy and accountability.
  • Coordinate special projects.
  • Process dues deduction reconciliations and political contributions for two PACs, including regular maintenance updates of data (addresses, name changes, phone numbers, and employment records).

Qualifications:
  • Five years previous data processing/reporting experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of database systems, data loads, data analytics and auditing.
  • Knowledge and experience of commonly used computer applications software such as word processing, spreadsheets, databases and graphics.
  • Accurate typing skills over 65 wpm.
  • Good English grammar and spelling skills.
  • Ability to work well in sensitive situations, in person and/or on the telephone.
  • Ability to work well in a "team" environment.
  • Ability to work well with staff and members on a variety of projects with limited timelines.
  • Background in public services, healthcare or non-profits desirable.
  • Ability to follow technical instructions.

Working Environment:
Group 2 - Requires occasional lifting and exertion for short periods.
Requires the ability to sit for long periods of time. The workweek is Monday through Friday plus weekend work when specifically assigned. The workday may begin before and extend beyond normal office hours depending on the demands of the assignment.
