Position Summary

Street Level Strategy, LLC is seeking a Field Director to lead teams of canvassers on a campaign within Street Level’s 2026 political client portfolio. The Field Director will play a critical leadership role, overseeing day-to-day field operations while supporting team development, performance tracking, and campaign execution.

This role is ideal for experienced organizers and managers who thrive in fast-paced, mission-driven environments. Successful candidates are proactive, organized, strong communicators, and effective people leaders who can manage both field staff and operational responsibilities across in-person, phone, and digital outreach programs.



What You Will Achieve

Team Leadership & Management

  • Lead, supervise, and support teams of canvassers across multiple outreach channels
  • Foster a positive, accountable, and motivated team culture
  • Take a proactive approach to coaching, supporting, and engaging team members

Training & Professional Development

  • Conduct onboarding, training, and ongoing skills development for canvassers
  • Provide regular feedback, coaching, and performance support
  • Handle in-field check-ins, supply coordination, and canvass shadowing
  • Ensure staff are equipped to meet campaign goals and quality standards

Data Tracking & Performance Analysis

  • Track, analyze, and report on outreach metrics and team performance
  • Use data insights to adjust field strategies and improve outcomes
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting using metrics, written summaries, and visual dashboards

Campaign Operations & Strategy

  • Support the development and execution of campaign strategies
  • Coordinate schedules, staffing plans, and daily field operations
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment with campaign goals

Administrative & Operational Support

  • Manage scheduling, timesheets, and other administrative requirements
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and campaign expectations
  • Maintain organized records and documentation related to field activities



Who You Are

  • Minimum 1 year of management experience
  • Minimum 1 year of organizing or campaign experience (community, labor, political, or legislative advocacy)
  • Strong leadership skills with experience motivating and managing teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Enjoys in-person work environments with a broad range of personalities and lived experiences
  • Highly organized with the ability to multitask and prioritize competing responsibilities
  • Self-starter comfortable working independently and remotely
  • Ability to travel as required
  • Valid driver’s license, insurance, and access to a reliable vehicle; driving on the job is mandatory
  • Passion for politics, advocacy, and community engagement



Schedule & Duration (Temporary)

  • First Training / Onboarding Date: September 2026
  • Location: San Diego, CA (District 8)
  • Schedule flexibility required
  • Must be able to maintain predictable and reliable attendance
  • Must be able to work 5 days in-person during scheduled shift hours
  • Flexibility to work outside standard business hours, including evenings and weekends
  • Overnight travel may be required on an as-needed basis



Compensation

  • $7,000 – $9,000 per month (Exempt)
