Job description

To better serve our customers in the rapidly changing political advertising environment, the TelevisaUnivision Political and Advocacy team has embarked on an ambitious and exciting mission to position ourselves as an integral resource to political advertisers, marketers, and partners by connecting them with Hispanic voters.

The Vice President of Political and Advocacy Sales will spearhead TelevisaUnivision's political advertising outreach acrossbroadcast, streaming, and digital platforms. The role is responsible for positioning the company as thepremier media partner for reaching U.S. Hispanic voters and driving revenue by leveraging political experience to develop new business with campaigns, party committees, PACs, and advocacy groups. The VP will collaborate with internal teams to deliverintegrated advertising solutions that align with the evolving landscape.

This role requires a strategic thinker, effective collaborator, and individual contributor with impeccable sales and management skills and a history of driving results. Executive presence, political acumen, proven sales and management success in the ad industry with strong organizational navigation agility are essential requirements.

YOUR DAY TO DAY

  • Lead political outreach efforts at national, state, and local level to position TelevisaUnivision as the undisputed leader in reaching the US Hispanic segment.
  • Leverage existing relationships and prospect, build, and maintain new ones with political campaigns and their advisors, PACs, and interest groups.
  • Continuously identify and capitalize on new opportunities in the political landscape that reflect ad spending trends.
  • Successfully develop, negotiate, and implement custom advertising solutions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams on political-specific marketing strategies.
  • Raise TelevisaUnivision's presence in political & other relevant forums through relevant messaging and positioning.
  • Maintain accurate records and provide regular progress reports.
  • Establish and monitor key pacing metrics to ensure performance goals are achieved; manage account/business planning and deliver regular sales forecasts, working with sales leadership to create and exceed quarterly goals.
  • Align sales management efforts, including account mapping and presentations, with company-wide initiatives, annual planning, key tentpoles and areas of growth and strength for TelevisaUnivision.

YOU HAVE

  • Minimum of 8 years media and political, experience; experience working in a client-facing role within a media company or advertising agency with exposure to sales, marketing, and digital preferred
  • Deep understanding of the political advertising landscape
  • Broadcast linear sales experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of Streaming/OTT, Social, Digital, a/o Audience/Advanced TV
  • Established relationships with campaigns and PACs; political campaign experience preferred.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills and the ability to translate ideas into clear, high-impact communications; comfort presenting to a client is a must.
  • Time management skills and ability to lead, execute, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven history of meeting sales goals and driving YOY growth, with a track record of closing new business
  • Adaptability and comfort working in a rapidly changing environment and ease serving in a player/coach role, especially in the company's current fast-paced phase of development.
  • Creative thinking and ability to align client needs with sophisticated digital and integrated opportunities.
  • Success in initiating and engaging executive-level contact with local, regional and national marketers and their ad agencies, with capacity to work across job titles, from media buyer to the C-Level
  • Strong data background (audience segmentation), data analytics, voter analytics.
  • Knowledge of media buying workflows for linear, streaming & digital
  • Understanding of key industry data tools
  • Market-level and regional knowledge of clients, agencies, prospects, and competitive offerings
  • Ability to travel regularly to attend client meetings, conferences, seminars and industry events.
  • Time flexibility required interacting with people in different geographical locations.

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a fulltime basis.
  • Must be willing to travel and work from our offices in the Central Region (Texas, Chicago; may consider DC, Miami, NY)

Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location: Base annual salary: 220,000 + Bonus + Benefits.
