The Law and Justice Department at CWU is accepting applications to fill current and future full-time, part-time, quarterly and annual appointment lecturer positions to teach classes in the courses/subject areas listed below. This list is not all inclusive; other courses/subject areas may become available within the department.
Paralegal Studies, Investigation, Police Personnel, Research Methods, Ethics, Conflict and Diversity, Legal Writing, Evidence and Arrest, Police Community, Great American Trials, Report Writing, Criminology, Legal Research, Family Law, Civil Practice, Community Corrections, Police Personnel, Juvenile Justice.

Minimum Qualifications

• Prior university teaching experience in the courses/subject areas listed above.
• Legal or Criminal Justice Professional Experience.

Pay & Work Schedule
Pay: Based on the terms and conditions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement .
The minimum remuneration for the non-tenure-track titles for the 2025-2026 academic year will be as follows:
(a) Lecturer: $1,224 per workload unit for faculty with terminal degrees; $979 per workload unit for faculty without terminal degrees.
(b) Senior Lecturer: $1,346 per workload unit for faculty with terminal degrees; $1,075 per workload unit for faculty without terminal degrees.
Effective September 1, 2026,
The minimum remuneration for the non-tenure-track titles for the 2026-2027 academic year will be as follows:
(a) Lecturer: $1,248 per workload unit for faculty with terminal degrees; $999 per workload unit for faculty without terminal degrees.
(b) Senior Lecturer: $1,373 per workload unit for faculty with terminal degrees; $1,097 per workload unit for faculty without terminal degrees.

Additional Information : This announcement will be used to develop a pool of applicants for positions in the department of Law & Justice through March 2027. There is a possibility that selected applicants may be called on short notice to fill lecturer vacancies on a quarter-by-quarter basis.
Screening of applications begins immediately and will continue as needed. The number of lecturer positions filled varies from quarter to quarter, depending upon the needs of the department. Positions typically start at the beginning of an academic quarter. Your application will be maintained in this pool for consideration through March 2027.
